why do I even bother trying to be nice...people always thing there is a motive behind it all.

You meant to say think...not thing However, the reason we are supposed to be nice to people is because we are supposed to be representing Jesus in all our interactions...We treat other's with respect for God not for us!!! We as christians seem to forget that...
