It's been a while....man I am not good at this blogging thing...

Well I have totally drifted from blogging because I just soooo busy. When I remember to do it I am exhausted and don't feel like dealing with the computer since I have been on it all day at work. Anyways, a lot of has happened but nothing to wow your curious minds about except that my boy is now 4 years old. We celebrated his birthday yesterday and he had a great time.

I just thought I would post this pic since it is a great pic that I took today of my kids. They were willing to take it and I love it.
These kids are my life....and nothing else matters in this world.....

When cyberspace becomes your life...

I really wanted to do this blog not just for myself but for other particular people that have made being on the computer more of a priority than taking care of business. I am the biggest culprit when it comes to checking my myspace, facebook and other things. But I had a major reality check the other day when my son, Donovan said "Mom don't turn on the computer, I want you to hold me". Well needless to say I was off that thing and held him. But it gave me a reality check as to this day an age. There are a lot of people that spend countless hours on the computer and just let life happen around them. I know people that as soon as they get a chance they have their laptops on and surf, post and blog while their children are running around. Is there a complete need to be on the computer while your children are around? NO!!! There is nothing pertinent or happening on the computer that you can't get done after you have spend your quality time with your family and that does also include your spouse. My husband doesn't use the computer at all and when I get on he is always telling me "Oh I see, you have time for your Mycrack but you can't just sit here and spend time with me?".

I really think that people need to use the computer in moderation and not just for your family sake but for yours only because you are going to be missing out on life. It's good to communicate with people through the Internet and stuff but how bout doing it the old fashion way...pick up the phone. You may be able to have and keep deeper meaningful relationships that way. Life shouldn't be THAT busy that you can't just pick up the phone or stay off the computer.

I have made it a policy in my own life that I won't get on the computer until my kids are sound asleep and if my husband is not busy watching his own shows. Therefore I am available for my family at all times. ....

Camping fever!!!

OMG!! I am so excited to go camping this year. Not only do I get to celebrate my daughter's birthday on our first camping trip but it is going to be a long weekend. I have come to realize that as a family of four our vacations are going to be very limited and cheap and camping is the way to do it in this day and age. Don't get me wrong I would love to go to the beaches in Florida or explore another state but with a limited income its not happening. And besides Artie and I have decided that from now on until my kids are like middle school age we will be doing family trips only. Reason being is that when we decided to have kids we realized that our lives were not going to be the same as it used to be. Artie and I can't come and go as we pleased anymore and we really dont feel the need to leave our kids for long periods of time. Not to say that Artie and I won't go away for a few days but a week would be a little much for my kids now. Plus there is no need. But that is my opinion.
Well I can't wait to go away for a few days. Pics coming soon...

Not sure what theme to do Ava's party with!

Any suggestions??? She likes "Girls Rock" and Tinkerbell (but that was done on her 1st b-day). I was thinking of doing a summer theme but she is in the beginning of it and I think it would require heat weather wise and I am afraid it wont be that hot!!! Uh what a dilemna!!! Anyways, if I was going to do a summer theme, Artie and I were thinking of making her a flip flop cake.

It actually is quite simple to make. Artie wants to venture into something more challenging like a fondat butterfly cake. Seriously Artie!!!

We shall see how this is going to pan out...and I will post pics when the time comes~!!

My lil girl, Ava Camille

I wanted to dedicate this blog to my lil girl who is turning 3 in 10 days. I cannot believe that time has flown by this fast. I could still remember when I found out that I was pregnant. I was like "OMG, this can't be happening, Donovan is only three months old". Of course Artie said "Yeah baby". I don't really remember the pregnancy since I had a baby to take care of but what I do remember is that I was sooooo excited to find out she was a girl. I figured, I already had the boy (as my father used to call him) and now I am going to have the girl.

Originally her name was going to be Isabella Camille but after a lot of thought and realizing that everbody and their mother were naming there daughters that I had to change it. I was looking online for different names and I came across Ava only because I was reading something about Frank Sinatra. Come to find out he dated Ava Gardner, which by the way was beautiful in her hay day. So I stuck with the name Ava and she truly is an Ava.

Over the years, she has brought us tremendous joy and laughter with her little ways. I sometimes stop and think..."OMG, I have a daughter". I can't wait to see how she will turn out as a teenager and a young adult. As my grandparents always taught me the verse of scripture: "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."[Proverbs 22:6]. I strongly believe if you put enough effort into your children in the ways of God (not your theologies) then you will reap the benefits and blessings that God will have for you. SHE IS DEFINITELY AVALICIOUS!!!
Happy Birthday Ava!!! Mommy and Daddy love you with everything in us. We are very proud of the little lady you are starting to become. Remember to love your God with all your heart, mind, soul and body and you will find favor in Him.

Sometimes I wonder....

why do I even bother trying to be nice...people always thing there is a motive behind it all.
