My 10 yr wedding anniversary cruise!!!

On October 10, Artie and I will be embarking on our very first cruise to celebrate 10 years of marriage. This has been in the works for the past two years leading up to this. We have invited all of our family and of course with the economy the way it is we didn't get a great response. However, we did get a couple to go with us, which I am very excited about, my cousin Wanda and her husband, Mike.

Wanda and I grew up together until I moved to upstate NY. Although we have been through a lot threw the years we have always managed to keep in touch, which brings us to this occasion. She did all the planning for this cruise and I am so eternally grateful since I had and have no clue in regards to cruises. Thank you Wanda!!!

We will be leaving the port in Miami and traveling to the Grand Caymans, Cozumel, Isla Roatan and Belize. I am looking forward to spending much needed alone time with my husband and having a great time and reacquaint myself with my cousin and her husband. I truly feel blessed to be able to go on this trip and that the Lord has provided to be able to do this.

GO COUGARS!!!

And so it begins....tball for my first born, Donovan. We have talked about this moment since we found out he was a boy!!! Artie was so excited to get Donovan ready for tball this year. We went out the the sports store Play it Again Sports and got Donvovan his bat bag, balls, and batting helmet. He's got like three gloves that were given to him and a bat that he inherited from his older cousin, Caleb. He has been psyched to start tball and actually carry his bag.

Here are a few pics to give you and idea....

Hendygurl Book Club

In the last two months or so I have gotten back to reading and let me tell you oh how I missed it so. I have found the time to do so and when my kids are running around playing I can still read. (not everyone can tune noise out). Well for this blog I have decided to highly recommend books. If you want to see what I have read so far on the far upper right hand of the blog is my list.
This book was absolutely wonderful to read. If you want to read about friendships and the hardships that they go through...this one is it!!! I am a fan of this author as well. Right now I am reading another one that she has written called "Between Sisters".

Our Disney Trip 2010

I know it has been a couple of months but I wanted to post this on my blog since this was a memorable time in our family lives. My children were blessed to be able to go to Disney and see Mickey Mouse and other characters. I am so thankful to God that He allows these opportunities being that some people aren't able to go because of finances. I am blessed everyday even if my bank account tell me that I am not well off. Knowing that I have made the sacrifices for my children to be able to see things makes Artie and I feel great as parents. It is one thing to have the finances freely available to be able to do whatever you want but is another to sacrifice something just to be able to see a smile on your child's face.

It's been a while....man I am not good at this blogging thing...

Well I have totally drifted from blogging because I just soooo busy. When I remember to do it I am exhausted and don't feel like dealing with the computer since I have been on it all day at work. Anyways, a lot of has happened but nothing to wow your curious minds about except that my boy is now 4 years old. We celebrated his birthday yesterday and he had a great time.

I just thought I would post this pic since it is a great pic that I took today of my kids. They were willing to take it and I love it.
These kids are my life....and nothing else matters in this world.....

When cyberspace becomes your life...

I really wanted to do this blog not just for myself but for other particular people that have made being on the computer more of a priority than taking care of business. I am the biggest culprit when it comes to checking my myspace, facebook and other things. But I had a major reality check the other day when my son, Donovan said "Mom don't turn on the computer, I want you to hold me". Well needless to say I was off that thing and held him. But it gave me a reality check as to this day an age. There are a lot of people that spend countless hours on the computer and just let life happen around them. I know people that as soon as they get a chance they have their laptops on and surf, post and blog while their children are running around. Is there a complete need to be on the computer while your children are around? NO!!! There is nothing pertinent or happening on the computer that you can't get done after you have spend your quality time with your family and that does also include your spouse. My husband doesn't use the computer at all and when I get on he is always telling me "Oh I see, you have time for your Mycrack but you can't just sit here and spend time with me?".

I really think that people need to use the computer in moderation and not just for your family sake but for yours only because you are going to be missing out on life. It's good to communicate with people through the Internet and stuff but how bout doing it the old fashion way...pick up the phone. You may be able to have and keep deeper meaningful relationships that way. Life shouldn't be THAT busy that you can't just pick up the phone or stay off the computer.

I have made it a policy in my own life that I won't get on the computer until my kids are sound asleep and if my husband is not busy watching his own shows. Therefore I am available for my family at all times. ....

Camping fever!!!

OMG!! I am so excited to go camping this year. Not only do I get to celebrate my daughter's birthday on our first camping trip but it is going to be a long weekend. I have come to realize that as a family of four our vacations are going to be very limited and cheap and camping is the way to do it in this day and age. Don't get me wrong I would love to go to the beaches in Florida or explore another state but with a limited income its not happening. And besides Artie and I have decided that from now on until my kids are like middle school age we will be doing family trips only. Reason being is that when we decided to have kids we realized that our lives were not going to be the same as it used to be. Artie and I can't come and go as we pleased anymore and we really dont feel the need to leave our kids for long periods of time. Not to say that Artie and I won't go away for a few days but a week would be a little much for my kids now. Plus there is no need. But that is my opinion.
Well I can't wait to go away for a few days. Pics coming soon...

Not sure what theme to do Ava's party with!

Any suggestions??? She likes "Girls Rock" and Tinkerbell (but that was done on her 1st b-day). I was thinking of doing a summer theme but she is in the beginning of it and I think it would require heat weather wise and I am afraid it wont be that hot!!! Uh what a dilemna!!! Anyways, if I was going to do a summer theme, Artie and I were thinking of making her a flip flop cake.

It actually is quite simple to make. Artie wants to venture into something more challenging like a fondat butterfly cake. Seriously Artie!!!

We shall see how this is going to pan out...and I will post pics when the time comes~!!
